Biography

Robert Barrera leads the culinary team of Cane & Canoe, the resort’s signature restaurant, as the Chef de Cuisine. Robert brings a wealth of food and beverage experience to the resort with over 13 years as a culinary professional holding several positions in management. On Maui, Robert has extensive experience in several notable restaurants including Pineapple Grill, The Plantation House, Hula Grill, Duke’s Beach House and Merriman’s Kapalua. In his new position at the ocean view restaurant, Robert will be responsible for the daily operations of directing and guiding the Cane & Canoe and in-residence dining kitchen with emphasis in creative menu development and product procurement while maximizing revenue and productivity.
