Craig Omori was born in Alaska, spent time in California and New Mexico, then moved to Honolulu at the age of 7. He was raised and attended school in the Kaimuki area (1991 Kaimuki H.S. graduate). In 1994 Craig graduated from the culinary program at MCC with an A.S. degree in food service.
His first cooking job (while attending school) was at Hali’imaile General Store as a Line Cook in 1993 – 1994. After graduating from MCC and returning to Honolulu in 1994, he worked at the Hawaii Prince Hotel in Waikiki as a Cook – Sous Chef until 2000. From 2000 to 2006 Craig was a Chef Instructor at Gros Bonnet Culinary Academy in Honolulu. From 2006-2010 he was Chef Garde Manger at the Honolulu Country Club. Since Fall 2010 to the present he’s a Chef Instructor at Maui Culinary Academy at UHMC.
